VML Employee Experience Kit: Designing a Seamless Onboarding Journey
VML, a leading advertising agency, sought to transform the new-hire experience by creating a branded welcome kit that was both functional and meaningful. The challenge was twofold: develop an engaging, high-quality product suite that reinforced company culture while also managing the complex logistics of producing and distributing over 20,000 items across North America.
Strategic Approach:
Solving Complex Production Challenges: This project required extensive coordination between specialists and vendors, ensuring that each component—from custom-designed notebooks in partnership with Moleskine® and fabric roll cases to enamel pins and office-specific maps—was produced to the highest standard while staying on schedule and within budget.
Crafting a Cohesive Brand Experience: More than just a welcome package, the kit was designed as a narrative-driven onboarding tool, guiding new employees through VML’s values and history while making their first day memorable.
Scalability & Consistency Across Offices: With multiple office locations, the solution had to be adaptable yet cohesive. Custom maps and location-specific pins ensured that each new hire received a kit tailored to their office, reinforcing a sense of belonging from day one.
